Please find below a list of some of the bills Assemblywoman Amy Paulin has passed that relate to women’s issues.  Two bills that are particularly noteworthy , Bill # S8441 and Bill # S4066, relate to the elimination or extension of the statute of limitations for rape and keeping firearms out of the hands of those who commit domestic violence.

An act to amend the family court act, in relation to the duration of orders of protection

Purpose: This bill increases the maximum duration of orders of protection issued in a family offense proceeding by a family court and provides that a violation of a valid order of protection constitutes aggravating circumstances.  It therefore gives a court greater discretion in issuing orders to protect victims of domestic violence.
